Hood By Air fw 14. I like this idea of joining hair. I think it's a interesting idea of challenging what could be a jewellery

Like this layers of light. Pale and dark. By AFRUZ AMIGHI

Reflecting. Movement of light. Mirrors?

I like this movement, but I think it would be really interesting if it could really move.

http://www.noelstewart.com. I'm really curious how it's attached to the body

They are seen rude and disgrace if they show their whole face when they are eating or dringking, so they mostly hide their mouth from a fan or cloves or handkerchief.

Decoration on this lady's head is also interesting. It's usually made by precious materials and stones, and very light. It skies with wearer while she's moving. I really like this gentle movements, I think this movement well represented what I want to express. It's delicate, it's beautiful, it's smart.

Chinese women's characters in chinese opera are mostly very shy. They use gentle, soft movements and fan covers part of their to express their bashfulness.

According to some ancient chinese poems and articles, young girls(started from 10 years old) are now allowed to go out of the house randomly and see people because people at that time think the more secrets they are, the more precious they are( can find a good husband). Their house normally are arranged in the most inside of a house. They can't read, so all they can do every day is do some embroideries and do make up on themselves.

I think the structure and flow of the architecture at that time perfectly represents a girl's bashfulness at that time, also the thought of vague. ,And I want to use my jewellery to present that bashfulness.Instead of being straightforward, they like to guess and be guessed.

GENTLE MOVEMENTS

These pictures reminds me of lots poems I've seen described girls at that time always like and enjoy the time  stay at home and waiting for their boyfriends come and find them, rather than just go out and date. They are also not allowed to do so. I'm really interested in how they are expressing their love really carefully, implicitly and delicately. And I see that as layers of emotions because it's not simple and straightforward. So I started with some research of objects of what I think could represents their feelings.

                HIDDEN

A musk on the face might represents hidden from something, like TRUTH OR FEAR.

People wear musks to pretend they are somebody else, that might be relates to power, fame, wealth, but also could wishing to be seen as "good". In some movies people who are "ugly" wears musks to get close to people, but the doesn't mean to hurt anyone. It could also be hidden to itself, like ostrich, hide into sand.

Ancient chinese people think vague is beautiful so people use fans.

This also reminds me of make up, and dramatic make up. Chinese opera use dramatic make up to represents some parts of character's personalities.

The first sight I saw this picture I thought models were wearing some kinds of hat, that they need to hold by hand. I think that is a very interesting idea. For me, the whole point of making jewellry is for the cat walk. I don't think I am going to do some jewelry like rings or necklaces that people wear everyday. For me, it's all about the concept I want to express. So this idea of stretching model's hair could be interesting. How the piece might change model's catwalk? Is it a performance? Is it something very temporary like smell? I went to the white show and I noticed one designer tried to combine a long-lasting vision with her garment itself. I think she put something like talcum powder on the garment. When model walking, it falls off and create a vague movement, and people can SMELL THE GARMENT It's very interesting.

This fabric is very interesting: reminds me of warmth, something relate to the family. It looks like a part of a garment, I think it's challenging what can a piece of jewellery or accessories looks like. The feeling, touch and texture of fabric reminds me of my grandma. I think it's about some kinds of memory and relationship between people.

Looking at layers of "Scaliness"

I want to add something of this into something can move

I like this movement, but I think it would be really interesting if it could really move.

Hussein Chalayan. Like this distance from body, and changing the way of wearing hats and "misuse"of function of body part.

Hi Tek Alexander

http://www.noelstewart.com. I like this scale, very challenging. I can see how it's located on the body. Interesting. Also, in order to achieve this scale I think the material's weight need to be considered carefully.

“Harvest Feast” Photographer Ogh Sang Sun Vogue Korea (Oct 2010)

What I'm interested in this scene is the voices. Director used not only people's voices but also the sounds of winds and trees. The voice of this man and voices of natural environment combined together showed to us, to let us see in the assisian's view. What I think is brilliant about this movie is the director express a lot of things without show it on screen. She's here, so we can hear what she hears, instead of what people in there say. This gives us a distance, ambiguousness and uncertainty.

After I've done these researches I realized that I'm doing it too randomly. I think I should focus on, for example, one dynasty or one aspect that they are shy about, like love or something else. So I looked up my research again, and I found a muse who can perfectly represent my ideas and concept-- Chinese name " hidden lady".  She is a character from a movie which basically told a story happened on tang dynasty. She's trained as a assassin, her final task is to kill her own cousin, but she never made it. The movie tells this story and her feelings.

Women used to asked to wear a special red cloth on their head on the day they marriage, and it can only be toke off by their husband after they met each other at that day. This is because that young women  at that time are not allowed to walk on street just like us since they are 10 till their marriage. People at that time think women should stay and work at home, and it's shame to let their girls randomly go out the house and walk around. Many young lady maybe even only be seen by few people before the moment her husband take the cloth off. This is very common at that time.

There are orders between treating adults and children.

There are difference between people in and out of the family

Chinese people like use alike pronunciation of objects to symbolize lucky things. For example, two persimmons and one bottle also means "everything will be very good".

Usually the main bedroom is the last room in the central. Few things I like about this buildings:

It's not straightforward. You can't see the whole view when you just walked in. You have to follow the road to walk around to see every single room.

Damselfrau(designer)

It's interesting that I wonder if it has two sides to wear. Stop one sense of face, enhance the other--it's weirdness might could frighten people away to achieve protection. Vey deep down, they are scared.

We can't get rid of who we are and where we are from. Memories from childhood will be with us till the day we die. Memories could be our PROTECTION, but could also be our weakness.

These are some primary research I did when I went out. It's interesting to see how light changes as surface, and shadows creates a new silhouette. How many layers of light there are? How it's formed and changed into different directions?
